Do you have old 8mm or Super 8mm home movies tucked away in a box or drawer—too difficult to play, yet too meaningful to throw away?

I help families preserve and digitize your vintage home movies so these memories can be enjoyed again and safely passed on to future generations.

I am the creator of Retro Family Films – 8mm Blasts from the Past!, a YouTube channel dedicated to rescuing and preserving family films from some as far back as the 1930s. I have already preserved hundreds on my channel.

This listing is for careful, frame-by-frame digitization of your 8mm or Super 8 film reels.

You receive:

• Digital preservation of your films

• Sharing on my YouTube channel: Retro Family Films - 8 mm Blasts from the Past!    

• Public but Private if you prefer

• Optional return of your original reels

1. Purchase this listing (and other reel sizes), choosing the number of reels. eBay will discount based on the number or reels purchased

2. I email or mail you a simple Agreement form with the shipping address

3. You ship your film reels (USPS Media mail is least expensive) and the signed agreement

4. Buyer is responsible for mailing film reels to seller.
5. I digitize them using Kodak reel-to-reel, frame-by-frame scanners.

6. I upload the digitized results to my YouTube channel, privately if specified

Digitized films include:

• Gentle stabilization and basic correction when possible

• Copyright-free background music
  (Narration available if you provide scene by timestamped notes or audio, after first upload.)

I will attempt to digitize:

• Warped or brittle reels

• Light mold

• Reversed films

Some damage may prevent successful scanning, but I always handle your films with care and transparency.

My wife's family nearly discarded their collection of 8mm films upon her father's death. Being a retired techy nerd, I learned how to digitize them and quickly realized how powerful it is to see loved ones moving and smiling again—moments and feelings unfrozen from time, recalled again and now never forgotten.

This began as a personal project and became a passion for preserving memories deserving more than a box on a dusty shelf.
